Spruce as Phoenix is a three-channel sound installation that breathes new life into old and broken musical instruments: an acoustic guitar, an Estonian zither, and the soundboard of an upright piano. Spruce, a key material in all these instruments, takes center stage as they transcend their “waste status” and perform music once more with the help of vibration speakers.

First appearance at the exhibition Life Can Never Be Paused, from 14th of December 2024 to 9th February 2025 at Tallinn City Gallery. Read more about the exhibition here.
